Tape Club Records do things different.
“Tape Club Records” is not your average label. Not only do they release tunes on DIY cassette tapes but members are all doing their own thing whilst remaining a kind of collective. Sense? Maybe not – but when you check out a few of their videos and tunes you see what the arrangement seems to be. They creatively do their own thing and the others pitch in as part of a group effort. Tape Club Records is like a little hive of individuals as well as a group who continually support and big one another up – nice innit?
The three musketeers appearing at AAA are Kerry Leathem, whose music has been featured on Grey’s Anatomy, Peter Lyons and Dogtanion. Each has their own tit bit of difference and creative walkway which come together as harmoniously as peaches and cream on a Sunday afternoon.
Some beautiful videos of these guys are found all over the interweb. Click here for Tape Club jamming for Dogtanion, here for a new one from Kerry Leatham. And here for Peter Lyons.
If you have a minute or two to check them out – I’d strongly suggest you do. They’re playing at AAA on 08 October – so I’d probably strongly suggest that too.
Check out their Fives Alive.
