SYMPTOMATIC present KAT MAY + PAINT IT BLUE
£5 ADV, £7 OTD
Kat May (Katia Mayen) is a French singer songwriter living in London. After earning a degree in theater and communications, Kat started her career as a theater actress. She also worked as assistant director, vocal coach and composer for theater projects in France and for the “Strindberg Intima Teater” in Stockholm.
Kat recorded her first EP in 2001, but it was only after working on other projects – notably with Saint Saviour (Groove Armada) as part of “The Heard” in London – that she decided to dedicate herself to writing and composing her own music. Her sound is heavily influenced by her travels. Her EP “The Trees of Regents Park” released in May 2012, is tinged with a Scandinavian melancholy inspired by her 2 years of living in Stockholm.
